Steel Pros and Cons
Steel has some advantages and disadvantages which are mentioned below.
Pros
Cons
Prior to Steel Iron Rod
Before the use of steel iron, most roofs were made of thatch and some TR girders. The TR girder was very popular for making roofs of concrete buildings and houses. But now it is outdated. This is because more and more buildings are being built now, but the truss cannot support its own weight. Also these buildings look very old.
Now the roofs of the buildings are made of lanterns which look very strong and beautiful. But it costs more than TR Garder. Shuttering is done on the walls to form lantern slab roofs, after which iron bars are fastened to it. The lantern is then topped with a mixture of cement, sand and crushed concrete. After all this process, a complete solid roof is formed in 10 to 15 days.
